Trees; branchlets ringed by the scars of the fallen leaf-bases. Leaves imparipinnate, crowded; stipules large, adnate to the base of the petiole, sheathing the branchlets. Panicles large, terminal, drooping. Flowers with 2–3 bracts embracing the base of the calyx-tube; calyx-tube with (4)5 “epicalyx ” -lobes; petals (4)5, alternating with the calyx-lobes, or 0. Fruit achenes with fragile pericarp. Worldwide: One species in Central and Northeast Africa. Uganda: 1 taxon. |
